🇺🇸 This two-part Epic Family Adventure will bring history to life! Prepare to immerse yourself and your family in the Colonial and Early American world as you engage throughout the week in class and additional activities. One 55-minute class will be held once a week. This Epic Family Adventure includes two parts: Part One - "Opening Day Celebration" to "Give Me Liberty of Give Me Death" (Weeks 1-12) Part Two - "The Shot Heard Around The World" to "Family Celebration" (Weeks 13-24) Families are welcome to participate in Part 1 and/or Part 2 of this course. --- This is a family class. Cost information is as follows:: 1) One person in the family must purchase this class. 2) Additional participating family members (ages 6-16) must each purchase the add-on class for the discounted price of $10 per class: https://classes.wonderwelllearning.com/courses/american-history-epic-adventure-family-class-addon 3) Parents may participate in the class for free. --- Each class (with the exception of classes 1 and 24) will include: - Weekly Review of family activities - Key Points Presentation - Fascinating Facts - Project or Activity and recommended family activities for the week - Show and Tell WEEKLY REVIEW This class requires additional time for activities outside of class. Each family will choose a research project to work on together throughout the course. Throughout each week, families will complete additional activities of their choosing. A recommended list of activities will be shared each week in class. The list will include math, language, art, music, science, and literature activities for a wide range of ages. Families will have the opportunity to share their weekly adventures in class during the Weekly Review. KEY POINTS PRESENTATION AND FASCINATING FACTS A visual presentation will be presented in weekly classes to introduce students to the key points and interesting facts of the weekly topic. WEEKLY FAMILY ACTIVITIES Each class will include a hands-on project or activity. To get the most out of this course, doing additional activities throughout the week is encouraged. This might be doing a recommended science experiment, making a Colonial dish for dinner, creating an art project, learning new vocabulary words, learning a dance or song, creating something with Legos or Playdoh, writing a poem or story, create costumes, going on a family field trip, etc. Additional activity ideas will be provided in class. SHOW AND TELL A few minutes will be allotted at the end of each class for students to showcase the project made in class. RESEARCH PROJECT Families will select a research project to work on throughout the course. Five-minute family research project presentations will be shared during Class 12 and Class 24. These research projects don't have to be complicated; keep it simple and enjoy the opportunity to learn about a topic more in-depth. COURSE SCHEDULE - Week One: Opening Day Introduction and Celebration - Introduction of class (including Q&A session) and families; fun projects - Weeks 2-23: Themed Classes - Week 24: Family Celebration - Presentation of family research projects, games, service project, and Show and Tell One of the beautiful things about this course is the opportunity to associate with other like-minded families, learn from and inspire one another, and make new friends. NOTE: This is not an all-inclusive history course. We will cover the basics of this historical period, immersed in family adventures, with the hope that it will ignite a love for learning and a love for history in each child. 🇺🇸 This course will be what each family makes of it.
