This Privacy Policy explains what personal information WonderWell Learning collects, why we collect it, how we use it, who we share it with, and what rights you have over your information.

This policy applies to all users of the WonderWell Learning website and platform, including parents, legal guardians, and the children registered under family accounts. It applies to residents of the fifty (50) United States and the District of Columbia.

Important Notice Regarding Children’s Privacy

WonderWell Learning is a service for families. Parents and legal guardians create and manage all accounts. Children under the age of 13 do not create accounts and do not provide personal information directly to us. We are committed to full compliance with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), 15 U.S.C. § 6501 et seq., and FTC regulations at 16 C.F.R. Part 312.

2. What This Policy Covers

This Privacy Policy explains what personal information WonderWell Learning collects, why we collect it, how we use it, who we share it with, and what rights you have over your information.

This policy applies to all users of the WonderWell Learning website and platform, including parents, legal guardians, and the children registered under family accounts.

This policy applies to residents of the fifty (50) United States and the District of Columbia.

3. Key Terms

Throughout this policy, we use a few terms that have specific meanings:

  • “We,” “Us,” or “Our” means WonderWell Learning, LLC.
  • “You” or “Account Holder” means the adult parent or legal guardian who creates and manages a WonderWell Learning account.
  • “Child” or “Children” means any person under the age of 13 registered under a family account.
  • “Service” means the WonderWell Learning website and platform at www.wonderwelllearning.com.
  • “Personal Information” means any information that can be used to identify a specific person.

4. Information We Collect

4a. Information You Give Us Directly

When you create an account and use our Service, you may provide us with:

  • Your name and email address.
  • Your phone number (if you choose to provide it).
  • Your billing address and payment information (processed securely through our payment processor, Stripe — we never store your card number).
  • The first name of each child you register under your account. This is the only information we collect about children under 13.

What We Collect From Children Under 13 — and Nothing More

Consistent with COPPA, the only personal information we collect directly about a child under 13 is that child’s first name, used solely to identify the child within your family dashboard. We do not collect a child’s last name, date of birth, email address, phone number, gender, grade level, or any other information directly from the child. All information about a child is provided by the parent or legal guardian.

4b. Information Collected Automatically

When you use our Service, we automatically collect certain technical information, including:

  • Your device’s IP address and general location (city/state level, not precise location).
  • Browser type and version.
  • Pages you visit and time spent on those pages.
  • The date and time of your visit.
  • Unique device identifiers.

4c. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to make our Service work and to understand how it is being used. Here is what we use and why:

  • Essential Cookies: Required for the Service to function. These handle login, session management, and security. You cannot opt out of these without losing access to the Service.
  • Functional Cookies: Remember your preferences (such as login details and language settings) so you do not have to re-enter them every visit.
  • Analytics Cookies (Third-Party): Placed by Google Analytics to help us understand how our Service is used. We use this data to improve the Service. You can opt out of Google Analytics at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
  • Advertising Cookies (Third-Party): Used by partners including Pinterest and Meta (Facebook/Instagram) to show you relevant ads and measure ad performance. You can opt out of personalized advertising through the NAI opt-out platform at www.networkadvertising.org/choices.

You can set your browser to refuse cookies or to alert you when cookies are being sent. If you disable cookies, some parts of our Service may not work correctly.

4d. Information from Third-Party Login Services

If you choose to log in using Facebook or another Meta-integrated service, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from that service. We use this information only to create and manage your account. We do not use Meta Platform data for any other purpose.

You may request deletion of any data received from Meta by emailing us at contact@wonderwelllearning.com with the subject line “Meta Data Deletion Request.” We will delete this data within 30 days of verifying your identity.

5. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Create and manage your account and your children’s profiles within your account.
  • Process payments for classes and other purchases.
  • Communicate with you about your account, classes, and the Service, including sending confirmations, receipts, and class reminders.
  • Send you newsletters, promotions, and other marketing communications (you can unsubscribe at any time).
  • Administer sweepstakes, contests, and other promotions you choose to enter. Entry data is retained for three (3) years following the close of any promotion for legal compliance purposes.
  • Improve and analyze how our Service is used.
  • Detect fraud and protect the security of our Service.
  • Comply with legal obligations.

We do not use any information about children under 13 for advertising or marketing purposes. We do not build profiles of children for advertising. We do not target advertisements to children.

6. Who We Share Your Information With

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information in the following limited circumstances:

  • Service Providers: We share information with companies that help us operate our Service, including Stripe (payments), Brevo (email marketing), and Google (analytics). These companies are required by contract to keep your information confidential and may only use it to perform services for us.
  • Meta Platform: Limited account information is shared with Meta when you use Facebook login. See Section 4d for details.
  • Advertising Partners: We may share hashed email addresses or device identifiers with advertising partners (including Pinterest and Meta) for interest-based advertising. You can opt out of this as described in Section 4c.
  • Business Transfers: If WonderWell Learning is acquired, merged, or sold, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
  • Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of WonderWell Learning, our users, or the public.

Children’s Information Is Never Shared for Advertising

Consistent with COPPA, we do not disclose, share, rent, or sell any personal information about children under 13 to any third party for commercial or advertising purposes, at any time, under any circumstances.

7. How Long We Keep Your Information

We keep your personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes described in this policy:

  • Account information: Kept for as long as your account is active. If you close your account, we delete your personal information within 90 days, except where we are required by law to retain it longer.
  • Payment records: Retained for seven (7) years as required for tax and accounting purposes.
  • Sweepstakes entry data: Retained for three (3) years following the close of the promotion.
  • Usage and analytics data: Generally retained for 26 months, then aggregated or deleted.
  • Children’s information (first name): Deleted promptly upon account closure or upon request by the parent.

8. Children’s Privacy and COPPA Compliance

This section applies to all information related to children under the age of 13 and is provided in compliance with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), 15 U.S.C. § 6501 et seq., and the FTC’s COPPA Rule, 16 C.F.R. Part 312.

8a. How Our Service Works for Families

WonderWell Learning is designed for parents and legal guardians. Here is how our family account structure works:

  • Only adults (18 years of age or older) may create accounts on our platform.
  • Parents and legal guardians register their children under the family account. Children do not create their own accounts.
  • The adult account holder is responsible for all activity within the family account, including all entries into any sweepstakes or promotion.
  • Children do not independently enter, purchase, or enter into contracts through our Service.

8b. Parental Consent

Before we create a child profile under a family account, we require the parent or legal guardian to:

  • Confirm they are the parent or legal guardian of the child.
  • Acknowledge and consent to our collection and use of the child’s first name within the family dashboard.
  • Agree to this Privacy Policy on behalf of the child.

We do not collect any personal information from a child beyond the child’s first name, which is used solely to identify the child within the family dashboard. No other information about the child is collected or used for any purpose.

8c. Parental Rights

As the parent or legal guardian of a child registered under a WonderWell Learning family account, you have the right at any time to:

  • Review the personal information we have collected about your child.
  • Correct any inaccurate information about your child.
  • Request that we delete your child’s information from our system.
  • Refuse to allow us to collect any further information about your child.

8d. Class Recordings and Children

WonderWell Learning may permit teachers to record live class sessions for educational purposes, including providing review materials for absent students and supporting teacher professional development. The following rules apply to all class recordings:

  • Parents and guardians will be notified before any class session that may be recorded.
  • Recordings are used solely for educational purposes. They are not shared publicly or with third parties without your explicit written consent.
  • Recordings that may include a child’s image or voice are deleted within 90 days of the class date unless you have consented to longer retention for a specific educational purpose.
  • Teachers are instructed to minimize the capture of individual children in recordings and to use good judgment to protect student privacy.
  • By registering your child for a live class, you acknowledge that the class session may be recorded in accordance with this policy. You may request that your child not be recorded by contacting us before the class.

8e. If You Believe We Have Collected Information from a Child Without Consent

If you believe that WonderWell Learning has inadvertently collected personal information from a child under 13 without proper parental consent, please contact us immediately at contact@wonderwelllearning.com. We will investigate and delete the information promptly.

9. California Residents — Your Privacy Rights

If you are a resident of California, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA) gives you additional rights over your personal information.

9a. Categories of Personal Information We Collect

In the past 12 months, we have collected the following categories of personal information from California residents:

Identifiers: Name, email address, IP address, account name. Collected: Yes.

California Customer Records Information (Cal. Civ. Code § 1798.80(e)): Name, address, telephone number, payment information. Collected: Yes.

Commercial Information: Records of classes purchased and services used. Collected: Yes.

Internet or Network Activity: Pages visited, time spent on Service, browser type. Collected: Yes.

Sensitive Personal Information: Account login credentials. Collected: Yes — used only to authenticate you.

Protected Classification Characteristics: Not collected.

Biometric Information: Not collected.

Geolocation Data: Not collected beyond city/state level from IP address.

Professional or Employment Information: Not collected.

Education Records: Not collected.

Inferences about preferences or characteristics: Not collected.

9b. How We Use and Share Personal Information

We use and share personal information for the business purposes described in Sections 5 and 6 of this policy. We do not sell personal information as that term is commonly understood. We do allow certain Service Providers (including analytics and advertising partners) to use your information, which may be considered a “sale” or “sharing” under CCPA/CPRA in some circumstances.

In the past 12 months, we may have sold or shared the following categories of personal information with advertising partners: Identifiers, Commercial Information, and Internet or Network Activity. We do not sell or share the personal information of children under 16 years of age without affirmative opt-in consent.

9c. Your CCPA/CPRA Rights

As a California resident, you have the right to:

  • Know: Request disclosure of what personal information we have collected about you, where it came from, how we use it, and who we share it with.
  • Access: Receive a copy of the specific personal information we have collected about you in the past 12 months.
  • Correct: Request that we correct inaccurate personal information we hold about you.
  • Delete: Request that we delete your personal information, subject to certain legal exceptions.
  • Opt Out of Sale or Sharing: Direct us not to sell or share your personal information with third parties for cross-context behavioral advertising.
  • Limit Use of Sensitive Information: Request that we limit our use of sensitive personal information to what is necessary to provide the Service.
  • Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.

Only you, or an authorized representative registered with the California Secretary of State, may make a verifiable request on your behalf. We will respond within 45 days. We may extend this deadline by an additional 45 days when necessary, with advance notice.

9d. Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information

To opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information for advertising purposes, click the “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link on our website, or contact us directly at contact@wonderwelllearning.com. You may also opt out through your browser or device settings as described in Section 4c.

9e. California’s Shine the Light Law

Under California Civil Code Section 1798.83, California residents may request information once per year about whether we have shared their personal information with third parties for those parties’ direct marketing purposes. To make such a request, contact us at contact@wonderwelllearning.com.

9f. California Minor Users (Business and Professions Code Section 22581)

California residents under the age of 18 who have registered accounts may request removal of content or information they have publicly posted. To make such a request, contact us at contact@wonderwelllearning.com with the email address associated with your account. Note that removal may not be complete or comprehensive in all circumstances as permitted by law.

10. Other State Privacy Rights

Several other states have enacted privacy laws that give their residents rights similar to those described in Section 9 above. If you are a resident of Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas, Florida, Montana, Oregon, or another state with a comprehensive privacy law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, and opt out of the sale of your personal information. To exercise these rights, contact us at contact@wonderwelllearning.com. We will respond to all verifiable requests in accordance with applicable law.

11. How We Protect Your Information

We use commercially reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration. These include encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls, and secure payment processing through PCI-DSS compliant providers.

However, no method of internet transmission or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee the absolute security of your information. If you believe your account has been compromised, please contact us immediately at contact@wonderwelllearning.com.

12. Links to Other Websites

Our Service may contain links to third-party websites that we do not operate or control. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those websites. We strongly encourage you to review the privacy policy of any website you visit. This Privacy Policy applies only to our Service.

13. Do Not Track

Our Service does not currently respond to Do Not Track (DNT) signals sent by your browser. Some third-party websites may honor DNT. If you are visiting third-party websites, you can set your browser preferences to inform those websites that you do not want to be tracked.

14. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email and by posting a prominent notice on our Service at least 30 days before the change takes effect. The “Last Updated” date at the top of this policy will always reflect when it was last revised.

If the changes affect how we collect, use, or share information about children under 13, we will provide direct notice to affected parents and guardians and obtain fresh consent where required by COPPA before the changes take effect.

Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy. If you do not agree, please stop using the Service and contact us to close your account.
