Can you build a sleigh strong enough to carry Santa's presents?
Calling all young engineers! In this fun, hands-on Christmas STEM class, learners will use their creativity and problem-solving skills to design, build, and test their very own Christmas sleigh!
Santa has a problem! He has lots of presents to deliver, but he needs a new sleigh that can safely carry his cargo. Can our young engineers help?
During this interactive class, learners will explore basic engineering concepts as they create a sleigh using building blocks, interlocking bricks, or everyday household materials.
What Will We Do?
* Meet the Challenge: Discover Santa's engineering problem and brainstorm what makes a sturdy sleigh.
* Plan a Design: Think about how to build a strong base, sturdy sides, and a space for carrying presents.
* Build Santa's Sleigh: Use creativity and engineering skills to bring a design to life.
* Test and Improve: Add small objects as presents and see how well the sleigh holds its cargo.
* Show and Share: Share finished creations and explain the special features of each design!
What Will Learners Practice?
* Creative thinking and imagination
* Basic engineering and design
* Problem-solving and critical thinking
* Spatial reasoning and construction
* Testing, improving, and redesigning
* Communication and sharing ideas
A Hands-On Learning Experience!
This class encourages children to learn by doing! There is no single correct way to build a sleigh. Learners are encouraged to experiment, solve problems, and create designs that reflect their own ideas.
Whether your child loves building challenges, creative projects, or Christmas activities, this class offers a festive way to practice real STEM skills while having fun!
No previous engineering experience is needed. All building abilities are welcome!
