Be inspired by today's artists in this Whimsical Art class.. This three-part series of classes features different artists and a variety of art forms and subjects, such as: ✨ Nature ✨ Food ✨ Animals ✨ Still Life ✨ Tablescapes ✨ Floral arrangements ✨ Toys, books, sports, tools, and other household items Participants will observe artist-approved reference photos as inspiration for their own creations. We will discuss the importance of avoiding copyright violations as we create our own unique piece of art. Art medium options include: ✨ Acrylic paint ✨ Paper collage ✨ Oil pastels ✨ Colored pencils ✨ Gouache paint Basic instruction for art projects will be shared and may include the following: ✔︎ composition ✔︎ lighting and shadows ✔︎ chalk sketch shapes ✔︎ complementary colors ✔︎ highlights ✔︎ paint direction ✔︎ layers Participants are encouraged to ask questions and share their favorite art techniques with fellow students. Recommended art mediums for these projects include acrylic paint, oil pastels, colored pencils, and paper piecing for the collage projects. Unless otherwise noted, participants may use their art medium of choice for the projects. As a fun bonus, some of the modern artists have shared artistic wisdom and inspiration just specifically for the participants in this course. Prepare to be inspired in your artistic efforts! If desired, participants may share their finished artwork at the end of class. ★ Check out all three courses in this three-part series. Herbal Adventures: An Introduction To Culinary, Medicinal, and Cosmetic HerbsMy middle daughter is so interested in herbs and cooking, and I feel that it is hard to find classes on those types of topics for her age group. This was a deep class that went into all the benefits of herbs, not just for cooking, but how they help our healthy! My daughter loves talking about how beneficial Rosemary is! She will add herbs into our food and say, "I am going to add this, because it helps with this!"Also, she is very patient with wiggly easily distracted learners, and redirects them kindly so they don't miss anything!

"Bee" of Good CharacterThis class was AWESOME! My kids still talk about bees to this day and how important they are because of this class. It helped them to understand how important they are. They loved the art activity, and also learned so much from the character trait lesson that she did. I love that in so many of her classes, it isn't just about the subject matter, she ties in important aspects like character and kindness.

Drawing English Vocabulary: The Fun Way To Learn New WordsLOVED this class! This was such a neat idea and a fun way to learn a subject that can be somewhat dry in other contexts! Drawing the picture gave them a hands on way to experience the word, visualize it so it made more sense to them, and made vocabulary easily accessible for all kinds of learners!

Paper Collage Artwork ClubMy daughter loved the paper collage class! She is always cutting and pasting paper at home to create new things, and this class provided a warm environment that gently guided her to do something new. Ms. Mason is very kind, patient, and warm in all of her classes and my girls love her!

Little Women Classic Literature Book ClubI thought my 10yo girls might be a little young for Little Women, but I'm so glad I was wrong. Not only did they love the book (the unabridged version!), but they looked forward to their group discussions with Ms. Carri every week. They loved bringing the book to life through the simple projects in class and are not so patiently waiting to watch the movie now so we can compare how accurate it kept to the book.
