🇺🇸 Welcome to the 50 States Memory Palace Challenge⎯where memorizing becomes an adventure! Memory Palace is a memory device that involves placing items in a "location", improving one's ability to commit to memory large amounts of information. This fun technique will be applied as we learn fascinating facts about the 50 states, according to the schedule found in the syllabus. Examples of facts that may be shared include: ✶ famous landmarks ✶ state motto ✶ famous people ✶ inventions ✶ plants and animals ✶ historical events ✶ fun facts ✶ and so forth ✏️Class will include basic writing, basic drawing, and brief discussions as students learn and share facts about the featured information. Time will be allotted for students to draw a simple memory palace and place within it the information gained from the discussion. At the end of class, students will have an opportunity to present their unique memory palace to the class. This Show-and-Tell is always entertaining! The more one practices the Memory Palace memory device, the more proficient one gets. (This is a great life skill to have!) Your student may participate in this challenge as often as they would like. Featured states will change on occasion until every state as been covered. ✨This class is a lot of fun. Let the Memory Palace challenge begin!

Herbal Adventures: An Introduction To Culinary, Medicinal, and Cosmetic HerbsMy middle daughter is so interested in herbs and cooking, and I feel that it is hard to find classes on those types of topics for her age group. This was a deep class that went into all the benefits of herbs, not just for cooking, but how they help our healthy! My daughter loves talking about how beneficial Rosemary is! She will add herbs into our food and say, "I am going to add this, because it helps with this!"Also, she is very patient with wiggly easily distracted learners, and redirects them kindly so they don't miss anything!

"Bee" of Good CharacterThis class was AWESOME! My kids still talk about bees to this day and how important they are because of this class. It helped them to understand how important they are. They loved the art activity, and also learned so much from the character trait lesson that she did. I love that in so many of her classes, it isn't just about the subject matter, she ties in important aspects like character and kindness.

Drawing English Vocabulary: The Fun Way To Learn New WordsLOVED this class! This was such a neat idea and a fun way to learn a subject that can be somewhat dry in other contexts! Drawing the picture gave them a hands on way to experience the word, visualize it so it made more sense to them, and made vocabulary easily accessible for all kinds of learners!

She is always cutting and pasting paper at home to create new things, and this class provided a warm environment that gently guided her to do something new. Little Women Classic Literature Book ClubI thought my 10yo girls might be a little young for Little Women, but I'm so glad I was wrong. Not only did they love the book (the unabridged version!), but they looked forward to their group discussions with Ms. Carri every week. They loved bringing the book to life through the simple projects in class and are not so patiently waiting to watch the movie now so we can compare how accurate it kept to the book.
