Long before Boy Scouts, there was Woodcraft Camp, a true "school-of-the-woods" book for adventure-loving boys. The story centers around Walter Upton, a young boy who navigates the challenges and experiences of camp life, aspires to master wilderness skills, undertakes personal challenges that test his courage and resilience, and works at developing moral character in the great outdoors. Join us in this boys-only course, where we'll bring the classic book to life through a variety of engaging activities. Each class includes: • Reading assignment to complete before next class • Teacher read aloud in class • Book discussion • Short skill-building video • Character study • Hands-on project While the teacher reads a chapter during class, students will begin their projects. Afterwards, we will build communication confidence and increase comprehension by participating in a book discussion. Unfamiliar vocabulary words will be defined. A short skill-building video will be watched, followed by a brief character study. At the end of class, each student may showcase their project to fellow students. This boys-only course is a wonderful opportunity for young boys to gather together and encourage one another on their journey to manhood. Herbal Adventures: An Introduction To Culinary, Medicinal, and Cosmetic HerbsMy middle daughter is so interested in herbs and cooking, and I feel that it is hard to find classes on those types of topics for her age group. This was a deep class that went into all the benefits of herbs, not just for cooking, but how they help our healthy! My daughter loves talking about how beneficial Rosemary is! She will add herbs into our food and say, "I am going to add this, because it helps with this!"Also, she is very patient with wiggly easily distracted learners, and redirects them kindly so they don't miss anything!

"Bee" of Good CharacterThis class was AWESOME! My kids still talk about bees to this day and how important they are because of this class. It helped them to understand how important they are. They loved the art activity, and also learned so much from the character trait lesson that she did. I love that in so many of her classes, it isn't just about the subject matter, she ties in important aspects like character and kindness.

Little Women Classic Literature Book ClubI thought my 10yo girls might be a little young for Little Women, but I'm so glad I was wrong. Not only did they love the book (the unabridged version!), but they looked forward to their group discussions with Ms. Carri every week. They loved bringing the book to life through the simple projects in class and are not so patiently waiting to watch the movie now so we can compare how accurate it kept to the book.
