Course Description

Blast off into an exciting world of discovery with this ongoing companion class for The Good and the Beautiful's Sparks & Stars! Throughout the course, learners will investigate physical science, space, energy, forces, simple machines, and transportation while bringing each lesson to life through discussion and creative, hands-on learning. Each week follows the corresponding lesson from the curriculum, giving learners the opportunity to deepen their understanding through conversation, ask thoughtful questions, and reinforce important science concepts with the weekly Show It Challenge. Every class includes: ⚡ Interactive discussion based on the weekly Sparks & Stars lesson 🚀 Exploration of physical science, engineering, Earth and space science, and technology concepts 🎨 Show It Challenge: Learners will build or draw something inspired by the week's lesson using materials they already have at home, such as building bricks, magnetic tiles, cardboard, craft supplies, clay, or paper. 💬 Opportunities to share ideas, ask questions, and showcase their creations with classmates This class is designed specifically as a companion to The Good and the Beautiful's Sparks & Stars curriculum. Learners will need a copy of the book, as we will reference the weekly lesson during class. Families are encouraged to complete the assigned lesson before class so learners are ready to participate in discussions and the weekly Show It Challenge. Taught from a Christian worldview, this class celebrates the order, creativity, and design found throughout God's creation while encouraging curiosity, observation, and problem-solving. From launching rockets and exploring the solar system to experimenting with simple machines and discovering how everyday technology works, learners will experience science in an engaging and memorable way.
