Building Confidence, Thinking Skills, and Problem-Solving Overview My goal is to help each student discover their mathematical strengths, build confidence, and develop strong thinking and problem-solving skills. Believe it or not, math CAN be fun, but many times it can be so frustrating! Lessons will focus on understanding why math works, exploring different strategies, and learning to approach challenges with confidence. I can support the curriculum your student already uses, reinforce current concepts, fill in gaps, or provide additional challenges based on their needs and interests. Tutoring Focus Build on strengths: Identify what your student understands and use it as a foundation for growth. Develop problem-solving: Practice reasoning, analyzing problems, and finding multiple ways to reach a solution. Strengthen understanding: Focus on concepts and connections rather than memorizing steps alone. Support current learning: Supplement schoolwork, homeschool curricula, or specific math goals and skills. I will also help them to learn if there are any math tools that can help support them, and will create any visuals that may help them daily while they are growing!

Math Missions Live! Problem Solving AdventuresI recommend this class if you want your kids to "play" with math. This is no pressure math. Candice presents the "math mission" at the beginning of class. Then the students work through it in whatever way their brain works. Sometimes it's collaborative and sometimes its individual. She meets every kid where they're at. When my daughter needed a break from the traditional math lessons, this was our go to.

Kitchen Chemists: Oobleck! My daughter loves the whole Kitchen Chemist series. This Oobleck class was so fun. She played with it for days. What I love about Ms Parks is that she encourages the kids to be real scientists by asking questions, forming their own hypothesis and then testing it. She doesn't expect them to just do it exactly like she does. She encourages experimentation.
