Students will draw with pencils. We will cover the basics of how to use different pencils for different values, and how to really draw the shapes and lines in the pictures we see. The first half of the class will be working through the drawing process, with emphasis on mapping out correct proportions and shaded areas. The last half of class is painting. We will add a base layer of watercolor. We add another layer of watercolor to establish shadows and values. Students can experiment with different mediums to add details to the artwork. Everyone will be encouraged to ask questions and talk to each other as long as they are working. Overall, I love to keep things light and relaxing. Even though we are learning technical skills, I love to make it personal for each learner and encourage their insights and questions. Learners will be encouraged to sign their artwork in a way that honors and completes their work, as well as share their finished painting. Students will need to bring a grid. The grid files are found on the class page.

Squishmallow Drawing ClubMy girl loves this class so much even though she is on the older side for it. She also takes Ms Bri's Realistic Drawing class. The beauty of this class is that the basic shape is the same each time making it easier to focus on creating a unique personality for each drawing. She comes running to me after every class to show me the latest character to add to her collection.
