Course Description

This 25-minute class introduces younger learners to the traditional story of the Pilgrims and the First Thanksgiving in a simple, story-style format. After a short retelling of the Mayflower voyage and the harvest feast of 1621, kids will take on a hands-on STEM challenge: build their own Mayflower out of LEGOs or blocks. The ships don’t need to float—this challenge focuses on imagination and design. We’ll reflect on Psalm 107:1 (“O give thanks unto the Lord, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever”) and talk about why the Pilgrims paused to give thanks to God. By the end, students will have built their own ship and learned the story of the First Thanksgiving.
