Course Description

Discover how Narnia began in this 4-week interactive STEM and book club class based on The Magician’s Nephew by C.S. Lewis! Students will read, discuss, and build their way through the story’s key moments—exploring creativity, courage, and obedience as they experience God’s design through Aslan’s creation. Each week includes in-class reading, discussion, and a themed STEM challenge that turns imagination into hands-on learning. Students will engineer, test, and create projects that reflect important lessons about faith, choices, and God’s power to bring light into darkness. We’ll explore: 🌀 Week 1 – The Rings and the Unknown: Engineer a portal door or trapdoor mechanism to symbolize entering the Wood Between the Worlds. 🌳 Week 2 – The Dying World: Build and test a tall marshmallow tower, learning how pride leads to a fall. 💫 Week 3 – The Song of Creation: Design a layered 3D shadow box showing Narnia coming to life through Aslan’s song. 🍎 Week 4 – The Garden and the Promise: Create a pulley system to lift and return the apple of promise—representing obedience and faith. Through story, science, and Scripture, students will see how God’s truth is woven into creation itself. This class nurtures curiosity, confidence, and creativity while pointing young learners toward the One who made all things new.
