Course Description

Pack your bags for an animal adventure around the world! In this family-style unit study for ages 6–11, students will travel from continent to continent discovering some of the fascinating animals that call each part of the world home. Each class will focus on a different continent and introduce learners to several animals found there while naturally weaving together **science, geography, reading, writing, and hands-on learning**. Students will discover where each animal lives, what it eats, how it moves, what makes it unique, and the special features that help it live in its environment. We’ll also locate each continent on the map, explore different habitats, compare animals from around the world, and learn plenty of unusual and surprising animal facts along the way. Throughout the unit, learners will create their own **Animals Around the World Book**. Each new class will add another section to the book with continent maps, animal fact pages, drawings, mini activities, and other learning pieces. By the end of our journey, students will have created a keepsake book showcasing animals from across the globe. Designed with families in mind, activities can be enjoyed by children ages 6–11 together while allowing younger and older learners to participate at their own level. The goal is to make science and geography memorable through engaging animal topics, creative projects, and hands-on discovery. By the end of the unit, learners will have explored the continents, discovered animals from around the world, strengthened their geography skills, and created a one-of-a-kind book documenting their adventure!
