Nataliya Porfinenko
A native Russian speaker and experienced teacher with an MA in Teaching Russian Language and Literature from Taganrog State Pedagogical Institute, and also certified by Moscow State University as a teacher of Russian as a Foreign Language. I love children and am passionate about teaching. I enjoy watching movies, traveling, and gardening. About Me
I was born and raised in Russia, where I studied and taught academic Russian and worked as a proofreader for a local newspaper before moving to the United States in 2014.
Since then, I’ve been teaching Russian to both children and adults — from complete beginners to advanced learners — in private schools, on online platforms, and as a volunteer teacher at a local church.
I believe learning Russian should be engaging, inspiring, and creative. In my lessons, I use interactive activities, authentic materials, colorful visuals, and a touch of humor to make even challenging grammar feel clear and approachable. I always adapt my teaching to each student’s personality and goals. I aim to help you build confidence, enjoy the process, and truly fall in love with the Russian language.
