I was searching for a simple astronomy class when everything changed.
My youngest daughter needed science that year, and I wanted to outsource it so I could better balance working full-time from home while still homeschooling her. I went straight to my favorite Christian curriculum company, expecting to find their content on the major online education platforms.
It wasn’t there.
Not just that curriculum—any faith-based content was completely excluded from the leading online education marketplaces. I kept searching, kept scrolling, kept hoping I’d find a space where families like ours could find both quality and values alignment.
Nothing.
The weight of it settled in, and digging in deeper, I learned that 74% of homeschool parents desire a moral-based education for their children, and 58% prefer religious-based curriculum. That’s millions of families being underserved by the very platforms claiming to serve homeschoolers.
God placed this gap on my heart, and I couldn’t shake it.
I’m Sandy Foutz. My husband Jason and I have been homeschooling for over 20 years across three states. We’ve graduated two of our four earth-side children, with our oldest now in law school. We’ve homeschooled through the wonder of early childhood learning, through the heartbreak of caring for two terminally ill daughters now in heaven, and through every season in between.
Our co-founders, Taylor Hamel and her husband Collin, have four young kids in the Arizona valley, homeschooling their older three with a baby in tow. They are first-generation homeschoolers, navigating learning differences and building a homeschool rhythm that works for their family’s lifestyle.
Between our two families, we’ve lived the full spectrum of homeschooling. We’ve welcomed new babies, cared for children with complex medical needs, worked from home as caregivers, and homeschooled through it all.
Through every season, we discovered the same truth—having a village of trusted mentors and educators who share your values transforms homeschooling from overwhelming to empowering.
We found this village in co-ops, church camps, tutors, and local classes. But when we turned to online education, that village disappeared. We were forced to choose between quality instruction and classes that aligned with our values, between convenience and peace of mind.
We kept thinking the same thing—this shouldn’t be so hard. Families shouldn’t have to compromise on something this important.
The idea for WonderWell Learning sat with me for a while. I kept thinking about all the families searching like I had, settling for less than they wanted because no better option existed. Finally, I felt God nudging me to stop thinking and start building.
When I reached out to Taylor about the vision, she and Collin didn’t just offer support—they jumped in completely. Together, our two families created what we wished had existed all along.
WonderWell Learning is the online village we needed but couldn’t find. A curated marketplace where both secular and faith-based courses coexist, every single one enriching, wholesome, and rooted in Christian values that build character.
We’ve had seasons where we desperately needed help in our homeschool, but feared compromising our values to get it. So, we reimagined what homeschool online learning could look like when it’s built by families who understand the weight of guiding children’s hearts and minds.
Every course on WonderWell Learning is rooted in a foundation of Christian and family values. Whether a class incorporates religious content or takes a secular approach to the subject matter, it’s built on the same bedrock—that education shapes the whole person, that character matters alongside academics, and that learning should strengthen families rather than undermine them.
This is a safe space for families schooling in faith. You won’t find content that contradicts what you’re teaching at home. You won’t encounter worldviews that chip away at your child’s foundation. You won’t have to spend hours vetting every detail because we’ve already done that work for you.
We choose teachers who understand they’re not just delivering content, they’re partnering with parents in the beautiful, weighty work of formation. They show up with warmth and wisdom, see each child as a whole person worthy of respect, and understand that their role is to support your vision, not replace it.
The hard work of curating is done for you, so you can focus less time researching and more time on what matters most—your family.
You don’t have to be everything to your children.
The best homeschool moms (and dads) aren’t the ones who do everything alone. They’re the ones who know their children well enough to find exactly what each child needs and are wise enough to build a village of trusted people who can pour into their lives.
You’re allowed to love teaching history, but outsource math. You’re allowed to be passionate about read-alouds, but let someone else handle science experiments. You’re allowed to guide your child’s education while inviting experts to share their gifts.
That’s not giving up control, it’s leading with wisdom.
WonderWell Learning exists because we needed it ourselves. We built it for the mom searching for that astronomy class and finding nothing. For the family tired of compromising on values. For the child who needs a different voice or approach than their parent can provide.
If you’ve been carrying the weight alone, consider this your permission to set some of it down. You’re still the one who knows your child best, who sets the vision, who leads their education. But the parts draining your joy and stealing your peace? Those parts can be shared.
We’re here to walk alongside you with teachers you can trust, transparency you deserve, and the homeschool community you’ve been searching for.
You weren’t called to homeschool by mistake. You just need the right resources and support to thrive.
Welcome to WonderWell Learning. Welcome to your village.
